I'm able to go months in between print jobs without the printer cartridges gumming up (like an HP color printer does). It prints excellent quality photographs and seems to scan pictures better than my Brother MFC-9440CN color laser all-in-one that has twice the resolution of the Canon printer.Maintenance is very low. Also, I've been able to find third party ink cartridge refills for this printer which has cut the cost of operation in half. This printer is a great deal at a relatively low price. I've used Hewlett Packard, Apple and Brother brand color laser printers. This is my first color ink-jet printer and my first Canon printer and I'm very satisfied.
So use the Easy PhotoPrint application that comes with it, or if you lost the driver, get it from this website again. B/c this is a magnificent printer. But the second time, I used it with some other picture application besides the Easy PhotoPrint EX.
Otherwise, it will come out grainy. You will be surprised at the clarity and boldness of the colors. If you don't check that box, you might think you are getting a worse product than you really have.
Great, especially if you know.Date: May 6, 2009Pros: Compact Design, Lightweight/Portable, Easy Setup, Easy to use, Sharp Tones & ColorsI used it a couple of times with excellent results and then after some time came back and tried to use it again. *Also, VERY IMPORTANT***on the Easy PhotoPrint, when you go to select the type of paper in your printer (tab on the left side of the screen), look within the dialogue boxes at the top that come up for a block to check that says, "Vivid Photo" and check that box. Best "photo" printer I have ever bought.
The picture quality was grainy and yuck. It's a free download and is available for Macs as well as PC.
Duplex is a nice feature. Very ugly. It is a very nice, if HUGE, all-in one, and the ethernet capability is awesome and easy to bring up.
It appears that the print head snags the edge of norma (thin) sheets and tears the paper. Canon will fix it, of course, but it really should not require repair.Better QC is called for. This makes the print head drag over the paper and smears ink.
Bought one of these because it is a Canon (great past experience) and it can be modified to print on CDR and DVD disks easily. The chip in the ink reservoirs is NOT nice as it means that non-OEM cartridges are more expensive than they should be.Biggest negative is that, on receipt, the printer mangles paper. You can't trust anyone, I guess.
It's a good, quick scanner, too. Pretty quick printer.
It makes beautiful pictures, and it's fast. The step-by-step setup instructions for set up were easy to follow. I like it. I bought this printer to replace a recently deceased Epsom. Since it is the highest rated printer in Consumer Reports, I was pretty sure I would be pleased with it.
Then repeat this for the paper feed, then repeat this for the black ink cartridge problem, etc., etc.And when the printer won't recognize the yellow ink cartridge and you just want to do something in black and white. But here's the rub. First we had a power problem, then the paper feed broke. Never.
Do not buy this printer. Sorry.it won't do anything, even 100% black and white until the problem is fixed.Bottom line: If you HAVE to use this printer.buy two. Then the black ink cartridge wouldn't register, now the yellow ink cartridge won't.I will say Canon's product support is very helpful.but first you send in the printer, then they tell you what is wrong, then they fix it, then they send it back.with each step taking a week. Under any circumstances.
Works. We've had this printer for less than a year and it's worked for about 7 months during that timeframe. Cause you're gonna need the other one when you send the original back and forth to Canon. Don't get me wrong.it's a great printer when it works. It.
